You would think that a bluff so distinctive would have a name. It’s a ridge that comes off of an obscure peak named Yellow Mountain up the Lake Fork of the San Miguel River near Telluride, Colorado. It’s a distinctive view as you go southbound on State Route 145.
Matterhorn is a ghost town, named for another peak that is behind the camera.
