I've learned a few things. At least most of the time now, I know the names of the wildflowers I see while hiking.
For the record, "pappi" is the plural of "pappus" (it's Latin, you know), which is the formal name for the fuzzball on (for instance) dandelions. Apparently crocuses (Crocii?) get those too.
